My Geek Box Unboxing (September 2019)
“Look at me! I’m My Geek Box!”
September’s My Geek Box featured three awesome franchises: Star Trek, Rick and Morty, and Fallout. That’s a winning formula! Plus, those franchises are featured on readables, wearables, and some neat, unique, exclusive collectible pieces. If you’re a fan of these franchises, this was a great box, and in my case anyway, that’s a big yes!
My Geek Box is one of the UK-based geeky subscription boxes. For £20 per month you get a box packed with a geeky shirt and a bunch of collectibles! To get half off your first box use coupon code “TBASE10” at the UK site, or click this link for the US site to get your discount automatically applied!
Continuing Our Trek Across the Universe
The UK-based geek-boxes have been positively obsessed with the Star Trek Graphic Novel Collection for the past several months now. September’s My Geek Box continues that trend. And you know what? No complaint from me! I’ll allow that some subscribers may be getting a little annoyed at this point, but for myself personally, I’m more than happy with the fact that these boxes seem intent on ensuring that I end up with the entire collection. September’s My Geek Box came with two more of these hardcover graphic novels: TNG The Space Between, and NERO. They have beautiful artwork, follow some excellent threads from the franchise, and I definitely can’t wait to dive into them.
Rick & Morty Minimalist Shirt Design
If you haven’t seen Rick and Morty, you seriously have no idea what you’re missing and you must check it out. Don’t let the potty humor deter you; it’s also an extremely smart and existentially terrifying show! (Also…potty humor!) It’s one of my and Jason’s favorite animated shows of all time, and this shirt is a great, minimalist design that screams out to any nearby fellow fans. It’s a very simple design of the logo and two main characters in black line-art on a grey shirt, and it’s quite lovely. Well, as lovely as it can be when featuring Rick’s drool/vomit-covered lips.
No, seriously you guys. The show is amazing.
I’m Mr Meeseeks! Look at Me!
Following up with some more Rick and Morty, we also have another collectible coin this month! Last month’s My Geek Box included a coin that featured Pickle Rick. This month’s coin features another fan favorite: Mr Meeseeks. The design is encircled by two of Meeseeks’ most memorable lines: “I’m Mr Meeseeks, look at me!” and “Existence is pain, I just wanna die!” He sounds like a hell of a party animal right? Again I state that you need to watch the show. Mr Meeseeks is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.
Save Up Those Precious Bottlecaps, Survivors!
Closing out September’s My Geek Box are two pin badges featuring everyone’s favorite post-apocalyptic video game franchise: Fallout. Both of these badges are designed to look like bottlecaps, the currency of the game world. I don’t know about you guys, but I personally thought that this was a really cute idea!
There were two different designs included in this box. The first (photo above) is from a bottle of “Sunset Sarsaparilla”. The second (photo below) is from the iconic “Nuka Cola”. Both are awesome and will look great displayed together! If you’re a Fallout fan, these are a set of really neat, unique collectible display pieces.
September’s My Geek Box was a definite win for me, featuring three awesome franchises, but as always, we want to know what you think! What was your favorite item? Do you love Rick and Morty (or are you, quite frankly, just wrong)? Which is your favorite Fallout game? Have you read any of these Star Trek graphic novels? Let us know in the comments! And remember to use coupon code TBASE10 on the UK site or this link for the US site to get half off your first box when you check out My Geek Box for yourself!
