Unboxing 15 Teen Titans GO! Mystery Minis
T-E-E-N-T-I-T-A-N-S, Teen Titans, LET’S GO!
Lambaste me if you like, but for as much disdain as it gets for simply not being the early 2000’s Teen Titans show, I think Teen Titans GO! is a ridiculously fun show. It’s goofy and silly and it’s definitely not the early 2000’s show, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes you just want childish foolishness and lots of funny DC character references!
Of course, for collectors like us, means enjoying collectibles of that show, which is how Jason and Adrianna ended up picking up 15 Teen Titans GO! Mystery Minis blind boxes from Funko! Daddy and daughter had a blast ripping open these adorable vinyl figures based on the show’s most prominent characters.
Good VS Evil – 15 Figure Options
Series one of the Teen Titans GO! Mystery Minis comes with 15 different figure options.
Most importantly are the Teen Titans themselves: Robin and Starfire (1/6 rarity), and Cyborg, Raven, and Beast Boy (1/12 rarity).
Also included are the most common antagonists in the show, The Hive. This includes Mammoth and Jinx (1/12 rarity), Gizmo, Speedy, and Dr Light (1/24 rarity), and Billy Numerous (1/72 rarity).
Starfire’s adorable alien-slug pet, Silky, joins in as well (1/72 rarity).
And closing out we have three more villains: Starfire’s evil sister Blackfire (1/24 rarity), Raven’s evil father Trigon (1/36 rarity), and Deathstroke-inspired femme fatale, Ravager (1/36 rarity).
Starfire – 1/6
Starfire is the heart of the team for sure. This little alien cutie is all decked out in her funky purple uniform, with that ridiculously long, bright pink hair. Plus, of course, those super-green, innocent-as-sin eyes. She’s incredibly cute and lovable, and one of my favorite figures in the line.
Robin – 1/6
Robin is the over-eager and over-bearing leader of the team, and they definitely got it right with his Mystery Mini. I love that they gave him those comically enormous eyes, not to mention the “heroic” hands-on-hips stance. You can practically hear him trying to talk the team into some depressingly disciplined new training routine.
Ravager – 1/36
I don’t know much about Ravager, myself, but she’s obviously modelled on Deathstroke and that’s all you really need, right? She’s got a bad-ass look, a wicked sword, an eye-patch over a scarred eye, and long snow-white hair. In other words, she looks COOL. I love her to death!
Mammoth – 1/12
Of the whole line, I personally think Mammoth is the funniest because they got his ridiculous body proportions absolutely perfect. This guy has been skipping leg day for sure, but his arms are enormous! Plus he has that wicked under-bite and a hairstyle for the ages. I just giggle when I look at him!
Jinx – 1/12
I’m not sure what it is about Jinx (it could be the adorable purple outfit and bright pink hair), but she’s got to be my favorite villain on Teen Titans GO! I’m super-happy, therefore, that we pulled her figure in this unboxing! I love her sassy little pose and evil grin, not to mention the little flash of pink energy in her hand!
Cyborg – 1/12
The Cyborg Mystery Mini might have the most complicated mold, considering his robot body. He also has a cute pose, hands up in the air like he’s ready to fight, but also grinning like the idiot he absolutely is in the show. He’s a goofy goon, and you can definitely see it in his fig.
Beast Boy – 1/12
If Starfire is the heart of the team, Beast Boy is the funny bone. He’s a total goofball, constantly bouncing around and using his transformation powers in super silly ways. I love that they gave him this odd crouch pose for his figure rather than have him standing upright. It suits his character much better. Plus that huge, open-mouthed grin! Spot on!
Raven – 1/12
It’s a bit funny since she’s easily the least detailed of the entire line, but Raven is definitely one of the best figs in the line too! All she really needs is that perfect dark purple-blue robe and the angry eyes and mouth showing through the shadow of said robe, and Funko got those down to an art with this Mystery Mini. Look at her! She’s SUCH A GROUCH!
Dr Light – 1/24
Dr Light’s figure is just laughable to me. Look at him! Look at how proud of himself he looks! He’s puffing out his chest, for goodness sake! It just cracks me up, it really does, especially considering how pathetically inept the villains are in the show. That, and the shape of his mouth is just…I mean, come on, look at it!
Gizmo – 1/24
The diminutive leader of The Hive group, Gizmo is another laughable character who looks like someone dropped a toddler into a villain convention and decided to just let him do whatever he wants. His enormous head (complete with giant goggles) and childish face are just too funny to look at. He’s the least impressive villain ever, and it’s absolutely great.
Teen Titans GO!
The entire Teen Titans GO! Mystery Minis line is adorable and well-designed to look just like the characters in the show. Of course, the most important figures of the line are the five Teen Titans team members! These five look awesome on a shelf together, and the group of villains we pulled will make an awesome backdrop for them when propped up on a riser. Can’t you just see it now? Of course you can, it’s an awesome idea!
Of course we’d also like to know what you think of these cute little figures! Which is your favorite? Who is your favorite character in the show? Please let us know in the comment section!
