Sideshow Collectibles Freddy & More from Marie!
A STUFFED Box from Marie, including a Sideshow Collectibles Figure!
We recently got a package from the lovely miss Marie in Sweden, and it was stuffed full of fun stuff for the whole family, including a Sideshow Collectibles figure that I didn’t even know existed! Let’s have a little look-see at all the stuff she crammed in the box, shall we?
A Useful Harley!
Believe it or not, I was only just recently looking for one of these packable totes for when I’m walking to and from the grocery store! Of course, it makes it much better that it’s Harley Quinn. You all know how much I love my Harley!
Rick and Morty Construction Sets!
The McFarlane Toys construction sets are too fun, especially for adults who are total kids. These two Rick and Morty sets feature Scary Terry and the Discreet Assassin. Scary Terry in particular is such a fun (and profane) character! Dangit, now I want to re-watch all of Rick and Morty again.
More Books for Missy!
It wouldn’t be a package from Marie without books, and these first two are for the littlest Tobin. The Whodunit Detective Agency looks like a fun, more modern take on books like Nancy Drew, which should definitely be fun. Tales from Moominvalley comes after my explaining to Marie that I have no idea what Moomin is! Evidently it’s a lot bigger than I gathered, since tons of people tell me they grew up with it!
Adrianna and I recently started reading the Tales from Moominvalley, and so far she’s loving it. Such cute little stories!
And Also Books for Us!
Of course the two totally-mature (cough cough) adults needed some books too! Jason’s is in the form of a comic (because he likes pictures!) from Dynamite. Red Sonja and Tarzan! That’s a match that honestly kinda works. And damn, what a sexy cover!
For me, an awesome (and thoughtful!) book of Swedish Folk Tales! Marie and I are both big readers, and she loves sharing books I may have never come across. The idea to send a book of folk tales from her country was an awesome one. I can’t wait to dig into these and see if I recognize any of them!
This item definitely took us by surprise! It’s a molded t-rex wearing a Santa hat and scarf…and it lights up! Unfortunately we didn’t have any batteries on hand during the video unboxing, but I’ll definitely be getting a fully-lighted picture of this guy on the Instagram account soon! He may just be my favorite of our Christmas decorations now. I can’t wait for my parents to see him and do a double-take!
Since she always gets a kick out of when we taste-test products in videos, Marie thought it would be fun to send us some Swedish candy that we may have never had before. And of course, to make it just that little bit more fun…she crammed it all in a plastic skull! She knows how much Jason loves skeletons, that’s for sure!
We haven’t tried any of this candy yet, but when we do I plan to record little clips for Instagram and Twitter so you can see our reactions.
She also sent along a tin of Mackmyra Pastilles (Swedish Whiskey “mints”), and a mint-tin shaped like Link’s shield from The Legend of Zelda. We did try the whiskey mints in the video, and I have to say…they taste like whiskey! They kinda make me want to try the actual liquid variety!
Emojis & Pokemon & Unikitty, Oh My!
A little pile of cuteness for Adrianna! there’s a small Emoji stationary set, an absolutely adorable Pikachu change purse, and a Lego Unikitty blind bag. We didn’t open the blind bag for the video so we could let Adrianna open it, but it turned out to be a cute “melty ice cream” Unikitty, which I’ll snap a picture of for the Instagram account.
Also in the box were two little squishy Hello Kitty figures – I believe they might be from a “FashEms” line. They’re little monster Kitties! At least, we think they are. One looks like a melty Frankenstein monster and the other like a skeleton going through a goth phase.
More Itty-bitty Goodies!
There was a pile of smaller items in the box, including some blind bags, like this Deadpool keychain! I had previously gotten the standard red version, and now I have the “Terror” purple version! He matches my purse….bwa ha ha…
There were two Horror Pint Size Heroes bags, from which we pulled Jason Voorhees and Elvira. Both characters suit us excellently; it’s only unfortunate that Funko apparently dropped the ball on quality control with Elvira! We’re not sure what the heck happened to her face, but I’m sure we can touch it up.
Dragonball! Marie knows we love Dragonball! She sent us a little dragonball-shaped tin with candy in it, and a keychain blind bag from which we pulled kid Gohan in his little hat with grampa-Gohan’s 4-star ball.
And then…there was this. At first we thought this little Pikachu was sleeping, but it turns out he’s pulling his cheeks to make a silly face. Adrianna fell in love at first sight.
(Tell me it doesn’t look like that’s what he’s shouting…imagine it in a Hulk-style voice.)
Marie has sent Jason figures from McFarlane’s Conan series‘ previously, but this time it’s the barbarian warrior himself! This is from series 2: The Hour of the Dragon. He’s in an awesome pose with a sword in one hand and an ax in the other, and you know what? Jason can’t get enough Conan. Enough said!
Mari Makinami Illustrious Statue!
Isn’t that just a gorgeous name? I mean, I’m must saying.
This one totally took me by surprise! She’s a character from one of the Neon Genesis Evangelion movies – You Can (Not) Advance – and it’s an absolutely beautiful statue. I’m a huge fan of the NGE anime, but I don’t have much in the way of collectibles, so this was an extremely pleasant surprise. She goes beautifully with my Asuka statue that I picked up at a local collectible shop!
Sideshow Collectibles Freddy Krueger…BEFORE He Became a Nightmare Demon!
Finally, the item that surprised me the most: a Sideshow Collectibles Premium Format Freddy Krueger figure! What’s particularly surprising about this figure is that it’s Freddy before he was burned to death, making it, for all intents and purposes, a Robert Englund figure. And that’s bloody amazing. He even comes with his creepy scrapbook of newspaper clippings about how he avoided prosecution prior to being murdered by angry parents. As a huge Freddy Krueger nut, this is just amazingly perfect, and it’s a Sideshow Collectibles figure I didn’t even know existed!
Marie outdid herself with another amazing box full of awesome goodies for all three of us. Books and candy and blind bags and NGE and a bloody Sideshow Collectibles Freddy! A Sideshow Collectibles Freddy! Thank you so much for everything Marie!
