Early Peek at the NECA TMNT 1990 Shredder 1/4 Prototype
The Making of NECA’s TMNT figures gives us a preview of Shredder to come.
Thanks to the people over Syfy Wire we have an early peek at the next TMNT 1/4 scale figure coming to the NECA’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1990 movie lineup. Shredder has been highly anticipated since he was first teased at the con circuits last year. Syfy Wire were lucky enough to go behind the scenes with NECA at their studio to give us all a making of for these incredible action figures titled “The Incredible Step by Step Artistry of Making NECA’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Toys“. This is where we discovered the info of one of our most anticipated action figures. It’s a very interesting read and I highly recommend you check it out.
Shredder looks AMAZING!
A close up of the facial and helmet sculpt shows an incredible amount of detail and appreciation for the character. There’s a great deal of respect paid to the property in this sculpt, from the scratched and scarred eye to the woven mesh and helmet details. From what we can see, it looks like the texture to emulate the fabric of the yet incomplete body will be highly detailed as well. I can’t wait to see it in full color after it’s paint application.
Syfy also showed us a sneak peek of some of the extra parts and accessories being sculpted for the Shredder figure. Of course he’s going to be loaded up with blades (because duh) and that bladed hand looks pretty menacing.
Shredder will be the sixth figure in NECA’s 1/4 scale TMNT 1990 line following by order of release:
- Foot Soldier (Coming soon)
I can’t wait to add this guy to my four 1/4 scale TMNT 1990 turtles. They’re incredible highlights and probably my favorite part of my action figure collection.
What do you guys think? Are you excited for The Shredder? Do you have any of the NECA TMNT figures?
